Thanks to support from the GLCS Foundation, The mobile "Farm Bureau Science Lab" visited the Richland Elementary in December. Nearly 400 students, K-3rd grade, experienced hands-on activities and learned about area agriculture, products and Michigan commodities! Just one of the many ways that the GLCS Foundation is working to enhance and expand education at Gull Lake Schools!
Gull Lake Community Schools Foundation © 2018 10100 East D Avenue, Richland, MI 49083 The mobile "Farm Bureau Science Lab" visited the Richland Elementary last week, thanks in part to the GLCS Foundation. Close to 400 students, K-3rd grade, experienced hands-on activities and learned about area agriculture, products and Michigan commodities!
The GLCS Foundation helped to establish the Debate and Model UN team at GLHS through a multi-year grant. The team is already reaching great heights under the direction of teacher Sheila Wood! November 18, 2017: In spite of the presence of tough teams from the east side of the state (Saline and Dexter), Gull Lake swept the biggest honors with Ellie Chubb and Nathan Halder winning the varsity finals in a 3-0 vote, and Nathan Halder and Justin Walker taking the top honors in a 2-1 vote. Additionally, they earned five best speaker awards and a quarter finals trophy. A wonderful day!
Seven teams competed at the West Michigan First Lego League Practice Tournament in Rockford over the weekend! Great teamwork and effort resulted in lots of awards!

In keeping with ever-changing needs and modern appeal, we've added new colors and design. Please continue to support us and the students and staff at Gull Lake Community Schools.
During halftime at the homecoming game, the Foundation reveals the "Big Check" providing Gull Lake Schools with $169,820 in 2016-2017!
Ron Magin, treasurer of the 2017 July 4th Rose Run, presents a $6,000 check to the Gull Lake Community Schools Foundation scholarship chair, Mari Draeger, GLCSF board chair Linda Engle and Karen Rose, mother of Sgt. Collin Rose. This scholarship is designated "The First Responders: Sgt. Collin J. Rose Memorial".
We're back at it! The GLCS Foundation held its first board meeting of the 2017-18 school year last night and welcomed the Gull Lake High School DECA Club officers, who presented and thanked the Foundation for its support.
The DECA club received a Foundation grant to attend and compete at the international DECA Conference. We're looking forward to supporting more inspiring students like these at all Gull Lake schools this year! Support the Foundation that supports your schools! |
